Having been first attracted by the shadows on trees she spotted in the grass, she set about studying a method that does not present the object in a two-dimensional form on canvas. The subject is a mirror of itself, while the canvas is carrying an interpretation by painting of the object, particularly when it is a living thing or food item, such as fruit or people. Alexa's style of painting is one of ephemeral, and only photographs of her work survive. Painting and photography are closely connected to form two-dimensional flat surface which is trompe-l'oeil. In certain places, three dimensions are observed, such as near the eye or the hair. Meade has also integrated her models painted by Meade into the space of 3D that surrounds the models. The interaction between them and the created environment can be achieved. The distinctions between performance photography, and installation is thus broken.
